Print Ads
Magazines, newspapers, flyers, mailing pieces… they DO still exist. Knowing the printing process and understanding how to prepare files for press is vital. Let me help you get it done.
Pretty Litter Ad
Starting with a pencil and paper, I created this original illustration of a calico cat. I then incorporated the illustration into a 2-page spread using illustrated flower graphics and image of the product itself, the kitty litter. Finally, I created a mockup of the ad, using an AI generated image of a calico cat reading a magazine.
Tools utilized: pencil, oil pastels, paper, a scanner, PlaceIt, and multiple Adobe products: Illustrator, Photoshop, and Firefly.
The Village at Evergreen Landing Ad
The Ginn Group was seeking design help for logo and ad development for a potential new housing development in Vancouver, Washington. I created the logo and this ad for their new project. Artist renderings of the home models were provided by Ginn Group, as well as their signature fonts and color palette.
I utilized Adobe Illustrator for the logo and Adobe InDesign to create the ad. I also used PlaceIt to create a mockup of the completed product.
Hyperion Ad
This ad was requested for multiple Indoor Gardening Industry trade publications. I took studio photos of the product that I utilized for this ad, as well as for catalog and packaging purposes. After creating clipping paths of the products, I used Adobe Photoshop to create a 3d look on the text. I also utilized PlaceIt to create a clean mockup of the ad in the magazine layout.
Ultra Sun Ad
I created this ad for a line of horticultural lamps. This ad ran in multiple industry magazines. In addition to utilizing Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign, I incorporated original product photography to create an organic, floral layout.
I was awarded First Place Print Advertisement by the Progressive Gardening Trade Association for this advertisement in 2011.
Later, I redesigned the logo and created many new packaging designs for this product line, which you may view in the logo section and package design section of my online portfolio.
